A short service commission Officer of Indian Air Force, Sqn Ldr Vidula has worked for last 17 years in the field of education, training and development of Air warriors and their families.
As Executive Director of various Air Force Schools and nominee Chairman of various Kendriya Vidyalayas under defence sector, she contributed to nurturing young talent of the wards of combatants and non-combatants of IAF.
She worked to identify the various educational needs of the families of the troops and enhanced the sources to improve their needs related to vocational counseling and guidance. She has worked towards channelizing the youth power of civilian children of border areas adjoining the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh towards fruitful utilization in Armed forces through Publicity Campaigns, Rehabilitation and Survival Camps.
After completion of her President’s Commission, she worked as a Life Skills Coach for the students of classes IX-XII of Schools under Chandigarh Administration through RIE. She has been a Resource Person for the Induction Courses conducted by the Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh and SCERT, Chandigarh for the teachers of government schools under Chandigarh Administration (SSA Projects).As a linguist, she strongly supports the cause of research and development of Indian Languages in English.
Using her writing skills she tried to ignite and inspire parents and their young ones towards joining the Indian Armed Forces through her column titled “Skirted Soldier” in Meghalaya Gaurdian and many news channels at various occasions. She specialises in conducting workshops and crash courses on how to crack SSB, especially for the service entry candidates, young NCC cadets and girls.
Her comeback story as a successful entrepreneur in the field of Blogging in military matters has been exhaustively covered in the book titled “Back on your feet” written by Neha Ratnakar Lagoo.
